Redesigning Soosooland Platform
**Redesigning Soosooland Platform Inspired by Netflix**
As the number of games on Soosooland grew, there were too many card buttons leading to individual games. With so many cards, I thought it would be hard for users to choose, so I created a file that grouped them into categories. But then users had to make multiple selections just to play a game.
I decided to redesign Soosooland following Netflix’s design approach.
I considered adding “recommended games” like Netflix does, but I dropped that idea because Netflix’s recommended movies and shows often don’t match my taste.
However, the category buttons at the top of Netflix’s screen seemed like they would work well for Soosooland.
I initially thought about having dropdown menus and horizontal sliders when clicking category buttons, but since I don’t have that many games yet, I created 5 buttons: [Popular] [Words] [Math] [Strategy] [Logic]. Each button displays games sorted by popularity.
Since I’ll update the popularity rankings about once a month, I also added code to automatically sort games according to their rankings.
To determine popularity rankings, I analyzed the past month’s active users and their usage time statistics, and the rankings had changed again.
Worpuzz Breeze, created in December, ranked #1. Trinkle suddenly jumped to #2. Numzzle came in #3. The Worpuzz series had been in 3rd place when all 8 games were combined, but Worpuzz alone was only in 10th place.
Today I cleaned up the Soosooland platform thoroughly, and while fixing things, I deleted the game recommendation test.
Then the shortcut button broke - the shortcut button appeared even when entering Soosooland through the shortcut. I compared it with the code before the fix, found the original `id="pwaCard"` and added it back, and now the shortcut card disappears when entering through the desktop shortcut.
