They Were Bots

I Thought They Were People, But They Were Bots
I was happy on August 25, 2025, thinking I had 24 international users, and on October 23, I was happy thinking I had 142 international users. But it was all a mistake.

They were all bots. As of November 20, I have 175 users from 27 countries, and almost all of them are bots.

So I investigated each one and was able to identify the real users who are likely not bots:

8/4 Finland (Finnish) 1 user, average 26 seconds
9/16 Ghana (English) 2 users, average 37 seconds
10/17 Germany (English) 2 users, average 50 seconds
10/28 China (Chinese) 2 users, average 1 minute
10/31 China (Chinese) 2 users, average 53 seconds (not new users)
11/8 Turkey (Turkish) 2 users, average 2 minutes 59 seconds
11/16 Morocco (English) 1 user, average 1 minute 50 seconds

Instead of being happy that foreigners came, I should have been suspicious and wondered how they found my site.

I didn’t make videos because it was bothersome. On Instagram, I posted one photo each on October 21 and October 27. On YouTube, I have 4 shorts posted about 3 weeks ago, which would be late October. The shorts got 279, 169, 270, and 208 views respectively. I’m curious if they had any effect.
